FRP Composit Repair

WrapGard is common innovative method for reinforcing all type of pressurized and non-pressurized pipelines, i.e. Oil, Gas, Acid, Alkali, Water Pipe work.
This is FRP repair system engineered to restore or enhance the structural integrity of pipe and infrastructure
This product covers following Standards for reinforcing pipes with lost up to 80% of wall thickness :
ASME PCC-2, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, ASME B31G, ASME B31.1, ISO/TS 24-817
There is no limit on pressure and we can supply appropriate products for pipes up to 250°C
This is a package contains appropriate resins and woven bi-directional Kevlar (or Aramid) pipe bandage (400 g/m²) made by high quality materials fits to mentioned application.

Number of layers which is needed to be wrapped will be calculated according to mentioned standards method easily with having several pipe's conditions like Type of pipe, design and working pressure, Temp., Type of defect (Corrosion/Erosion/Weld lines/Dent,…), wall loss and type of internal fluid.
We usually recommended wrapping with overlap %50 for easily installation.
We developed our resins with mixing ratio 1:1 for different applications.
This combination of resins and Kevlar bandage also used for preventing corrosion in future as Anti-corrosion wraps. It can be applied on spiral, T-Shape, Y-Shape and bending lines easily.

Conditions for apply

1-All present protecting wraps should be removed and you have to access on pipe directly. This method cannot be applied on other wraps.

2- Surface preparation for this method is obligation. Minimum roughness which is needed is SA 2½ You can use Bristle Blaster as safest tool for surface preparation. We do not recommend Grit Blaster or grinder. Bristle Blaster not only removes all dirt but also prepare pipe surface with appropriate roughness.

3- If there is lack of metal on the pipe, fill out the gap with special 2 parts epoxy putty.

4- Metal Fill resin should be prepared with Ratio 1:1 until reaching homogenate black gray color. This Resin contains several different of metal alloys which can strengthen pipe as well. Curing time depends on ambient Temp. and should be considered perfectly during installation.

5- Apply mixed resin on prepared surface of pipe in previous section with appropriate tools. Note that all parts of defect area be covered by resin perfectly with uniforms thickness.

6- There is no need to wait for curing first layer of resin on the pipe.

7- Wrapping of raw Kevlar bandage (non pre-impregnated type) will be started on resin with overlap %50 from start point to end of repair area. Kevlar Bandage will be provided as 50m roll with 10cm width.

8- Then resin for second time will be applied on Kevlar bandage.

9- Wrapping continues from end to first reversely.

10- Same procedure will be followed for further layers up to design calculation number of layers.

11- Preliminary curing will be happen within 4 hours (depends on ambient Temp.) but final curing is 24 hours. It means that for underground pipe line, should be wait 24 hrs for being buried again.
