If there is no permit for blasting on corroded pipelines, StopGard is pre-impregnated FRP composite pipe repair kit which can be installed on all type of pipes (underground, above ground and sub-sea) which has no need for any specified surface preparation like adjusting roughness according to international standards. This method is safest way for reinforcing all shapes of pipes and can be used for critical defect on fuel or similar pipe lines which blasting or gritting will be dangerous. For applying this product cup brush is convenient and no need for white metal blasting. But it should be wrap on pipe directly and all available coating should be removed. This method is designed according to standard ASME PCC-2 Type B which is used for Type A condition, because of critical situation of pipe line. Nowadays, clients use this new method on weld lines for preventing pinhole leak in future.

Installation Procedure

1- Surface of pipe should be cleaned with cup brush.

2- Defect area should be filled out with appropriate two parts epoxy to compensate lack of metal loss on pipe

3- Wrapping will be started in next level with overlap %50 to reach designed number of layers.

4- For above ground pipelines, If pipe line is under direct UV ray expose condition, Anti-UV paint is necessary but if pipe is underground type, there is no need any additional coating.
